The Red Barn trades antiques for firearms after pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic was a big influence on Jason Kite’s The Red Barn Firearms when it opened Dec. 21.

Before that, he, and his wife, Heather Kite, ran the antique store The Red Barn in Anoka since 2017, in the same building at 2936 U.S. 35 by their home.

COVID killed that business, he said.

“Auctions closed, and that’s where I got all my stuff,” he said.

However, he’d been selling guns at gun shows since 2018.
